About

Contemporary artist based in New York

Biography

Wo Xinyu is a Chinese-born contemporary artist based in New York, working across painting, public art, and site-responsive projects. She received her BFA from the China Academy of Art and her MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York.

Her practice explores migration, urban experience, and the changing relationships between the body, technology, and the environment in the age of AI. In her ongoing Light Fields series, light becomes an active structure through which figures and their surroundings dissolve into fields of color, movement, and energy. Her public projects extend this visual language into everyday spaces, treating architecture and community as integral parts of the work.

Wo’s work has been exhibited across the United States and China and featured in publications including New American Paintings, Whitehot Magazine, ArteFuse, Meer, and CAFA.
